Biography: Charlie Agnew was born on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. He attended public schools in Franklin County, Virginia, Virginia Beach, Virginia, and finally in Henry County, Virginia, where he received his high school diploma. He has been married to Jackie Jerrolds Agnew for twenty-one years, and they have four wonderful children together, T.J., Ben, Janlyn, and Eliana.

Soon thereafter, he completed an M.F.A. in Painting at the University of Memphis. After graduating and doing some part-time teaching at the University of Memphis, he taught at Union University in Jackson, Tennessee, as a Visiting Professor of Art.

His artistic skills include: Drawing, Painting, Photography, and Sculpture.
Organizations: Charlie is the MGA Peacock Gallery Director, who schedules exhibitions on both the Cochran and Macon campuses. Charlie represents the Department of Media, Culture, and the Arts on the Student Affairs Committee since 2019, and is also a member of the MGA Faculty Senate from 2024 to 2026. He is also currently the Treasurer of the Cochran-Bleckley Arts Alliance.
