Chair & Assistant Professor
Credentials: CFI, MS

Biography: I am Kemarie Jeffers, newly appointed department chair in the School of Aviation Safety and Management at Â鶹ÊÓƵ. I strive to create an inclusive and supportive environment for students to thrive. Born and raised in Henderson, North Carolina, and part of a large, close-knit family, I have always valued community and mentorship, principles that guide my approach to education.

I have been at MGA for just at 3 years and I have taught a variety of courses within the Aviation Program. In addition to my teaching responsibilities, I am proud to serve as a faculty advisor for the Organization of Black Aerospace Professionals, a role that allows me to support and mentor the next generation of aviation leaders. I am also actively involved in the university’s Faculty Senate and the Committee for Diversity and Inclusion, where I work to promote equity and representation in the aerospace field.

I am a certified flight instructor, holding a Bachelor of Science in Aviation Science from Elizabeth City State University and a Master of Aviation Science from Everglades University. I am currently pursuing a Doctor of Education in Applied Aviation and Space Studies at Oklahoma State University, with plans to graduate in December 2025.

My journey in aviation is deeply rooted in the values of perseverance, hard work, and community instilled in me by my family and my upbringing in North Carolina. I aim to pass these values on to my students, inspiring them to pursue their own dreams in the aviation industry.
