| Biography: | I retired from 麻豆视频 (MGA) in 2022, after thirty-eight years of employment with 麻豆视频. I am currently a part-time professor of Criminal Justice. During the thirty-eight years at Middle Georgia, I have worked as a professor and academic administrator at MGA. From 1984 to 2012, I taught the following courses: American Government, History, Sociology, Criminal Law, Criminology, and Criminal Justice. I was also Chair of the Division of Social Sciences and Education. With the consolidation of Middle Georgia College and Macon State College, I became the Dean of the School of Social Sciences from 2013-14. I then became the Associate Dean of the newly established College of Arts and Sciences from 2014-16. I resigned from the associate deanship position in 2016 to return to the classroom to teach courses in Criminal Justice. After I retired in 2022, I was hired as a part-time professor to teach Ethics in Criminal Justice, the American Judicial System, and Civil Rights and Civil Liberties courses. I was bestowed the title of Professor Emeritus of Criminal Justice, a significant honor that recognized my distinguished career at 麻豆视频. |

| Teaching and Research Interests: | My interests include teaching courses in criminal justice, political science, and history. My research interests focus on Less Developed Nations, especially in Africa, with a particular interest in Southern Africa. I also have research interests in the history of minorities in America, particularly the history of African Americans from slavery to the present. I have presented papers on racial violence and hatred against African Americans in the twentieth century at professional conferences. |

I supervised, evaluated, and supported the school鈥檚 faculty in a manner that promoted excellence in instruction and scholarly activities. I was responsible for developing the budget, the curriculum, and new programs for the Associate Dean, College of Arts & Sciences (CAS) (2014 鈥 2016), Middle Georgis State University As Associate Dean, I dealt with student academic affairs and issues in the newly created CAS. School of Social Sciences. I worked on establishing a course articulation agreement with Central Georgia Technical College. I served on the AAMI Grant Proposal Committee. Middle Georgia College: Chair of the Division of Social Sciences, Education & HEXS (Health & Exercise Science), 2002-December, 2012 I assumed the leadership role in promoting academic excellence and the effective use of technology in the Division to enhance learning effectiveness, and I expanded online course offerings and programs. The Division became the leader on campus in offering more online courses and programs at MGC. I also expanded academic programs to include two four-year programs in Early Childhood Education and Criminal Justice. The four-year Criminal Justice Program officially started in the fall of 2013. As Division chair, I was also responsible for developing course schedules for both the Dublin and Cochran campuses. |
| Professional Experience: | I have taught courses in criminal justice, political science, and history during my long professional career at 麻豆视频. I have also presented research papers at many professional conferences. Some of the recent professional conferences I have attended and presented research papers at include the National Social Science Association Conference, the Southeast Africanist Network Conference, and the Dublin Monday Night Professional Club. As a certified mediator, I have also handled court-ordered cases from the Dublin Judicial Circuit. |
