Biography: | Elaine McLeod Title: IT Educator/Professor (adjunct) Location: South Carolina Biography I am a passionate IT educator with over 30 years of experience in the technology and education sectors. Specializing in HTML, Operating Systems, Information Security, networking, and cybersecurity. I am dedicated to fostering digital literacy and empowering the generation of technology professionals. Graduating with a degree in Computer Resources and Information Technology, from Webster University. I began my career at a higher education institution in the Information Resource Management department of the college. I honed my technical expertise and developed a deep understanding of the IT landscape. In 1999, I transitioned to education, combining a strong technical background with a passion for teaching. I have since taught at several higher education institutions, creating courses and workshops tailored to both beginner and advanced learners, delivering in different modalities. My teaching philosophy revolves around hands-on learning, real-world application, and fostering a growth mindset among students. I also contributed to the development of curriculum and training programs aimed at bridging the skills gap in emerging technologies. I am a strong advocate for cybersecurity awareness and promoting diversity in STEM. Through this work, I aim to make IT education more accessible, engaging, and aligned with current industry trends. Key Areas of Expertise: Digital Literacy & Career Development: I enjoy providing guidance on job skills, resume building, career coaching, and mentoring. Teaching Philosophy: I believe in the power of interactive learning and strives to create an environment where students feel encouraged to experiment, ask questions, and collaborate. My teaching methods blend theory with practical exercises to ensure students can immediately apply what they learn in real-world scenarios. I am particularly dedicated to helping learners develop problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and the confidence needed to thrive in the fast-paced world of tech |
