Biography: Christopher Tsavatewa is the Assistant Provost and Tenured Associate Professor of Health Services Administration at 麻豆视频. His professional scholarship and expertise are in the area of public health, strategic management, health policy, self-determination, native health, experiential learning, internationalization, public service, palliative medicine, medical ethics and data governance. He received his bachelor鈥檚 degree in Public Service from Macon State College, his Masters in Public Health from Mercer University School of Medicine, and his Master in Information Technology from 麻豆视频, and his Doctorate of Science in Information Technology from 麻豆视频.

An engaged citizen, Chris has served in leadership positions in a variety of community organizations and non-profits including the Center for Native Health, Georgia Public Broadcasting Macon Advisory Board, the Star Choices Community Advisory Board, the Leadership Macon Advisory Board, the Magnolia Soapbox Derby, the Westside HS CTEA Advisory Board, the Pints for Prostates Macon Beer Festival, Macon Roots, College Hill Corridor Commission, Central Georgia Boy Scouts, Central Georgia Red Cross Minority Advisory Board, Layaway Santa, the Middle Georgia Taskforce for Quality Palliative Care, and many many more. Tsavatewa, A 2012 graduate of Leadership Macon and one of Macon Magazines 2014 鈥淔ive Under Forty鈥, is currently the Chair of the Macon-Bibb Board of Health and a member of the Atrium Navicent Health Ethics Committee. Named a 2016 Young Gamechanger by Georgia Forward, Chris is also known around the state as the Co-Founder/Craft Beer Evangelist of the Peach State Ale Trail and a champion of public health policy and services. He is married to Dallas Roper, JD (a Macon State College Public Service Alum and graduate of Mercer Law) the Litigation Manager at Georgia Farm Bureau and has one son, Henry Wyatt (13) an a daughter Hazel Wren (9) who attend the Academy for Classical Education in Macon and participate in Club Soccer at the Macon Soccer Club.

In 2024 Dr. Tsavatewa received the prestigious Fred Agel Governance Award by the Georgia Public Health Association at their 94th Annual Meeting on May 3. This accolade honors outstanding commitment and service in the promotion of public health in Georgia under the criteria of innovation, impact, timeliness, visibility, and initiative.
